background

The pressure was on for Round 6 of the British Superbike Championship, which took place this weekend at Thruxton in partnership with PR Racing! The iForce Lloyd & Jones BMW had a rollercoaster weekend, but despite the setbacks, the team continued to progress and gain pace throughout the weekend.

This weekend, #12 Luke Mossey made his PR Racing debut and put in an incredible qualifying display in his first Superpicks 12 for the team in the scorching heat, qualifying 9th, with teammate #44 Dan Jones lining-up in P22.

Unfortunately, Mossey was involved in a racing incident during the first lap of Race 1 that sent him wide off the course, spilling his M1000RR at Club Chicane. He was hit by another rider while on the ground, severely wounding his right arm and forcing him out of action for the rest of the weekend. We hope that both riders are able to rest and heal in time for Round 7 at Cadwell Park.

Teammate Jones made remarkable progress, climbing all the way to 17th place, just two places short of a points finish.

A technical issue prevented Jones from competing in Race 3 moments before the start; with no time to diagnose and repair the issue, the team chose to err on the side of caution and withdraw from the race, but Jones was pleased with his performance nonetheless.

“We have made some really good steps forward with the set-up, which will help us at Cadwell and future rounds. Thanks to the team and my personal sponsors for everything!”

Dan Jones

“It was a very positive weekend just a shame I crashed yesterday, but really good start considering I’ve just got on the bike. I can’t wait to get to Cadwell Park and continue the work we have done this weekend.”

Luke Mossey

the tech

Trackside IT was up and running as usual, with all monitors and laptops configured and ready for the race weekend.

All telemetry data was captured and synchronized to PR Racing’s cloud environment. The engineers will analyse and troubleshoot any issues before the next round at Cadwell Park.

what’s next

It’s exciting to see our equipment in operation over the weekend and look forward to what’s possible with the power of software and technology.

We are hoping to join PR Racing and help the crew at Cadwell Park in a few weeks time!
